04 save & compare

Save this scenario into a folder (per product) to compare it later against other suppliers or shipping methods. Stored in this browser — nothing is sent to any server.

05 demand & competition — optional

Before you buy, it helps to know if the product is already selling, and at what scale. We don't calculate these numbers for you — fill them in with what you find on Amazon (e.g. the "X+ bought in past month" note on the listing) or another research tool.

data you research yourself — this calculator does not estimate it
conservative starting assumption: 5-15% if you're new to that niche
if filled, this is used instead of the % above

A direct projection based on the numbers you enter — not a guaranteed forecast. Use it to weigh your entry cost (purchase + freight + fees) against a revenue expectation before deciding on the order.

06 how it’s calculated

Your margin comes from subtracting the referral fee (Amazon's commission by category), the FBA fulfillment fee, the product cost, and the freight you paid to ship it to Amazon's warehouse from the selling price.

ROI is calculated on what you actually put out of pocket (cost + freight + other), not on the selling price — that's why it's usually a higher number than the margin.

07 frequently asked questions
Is this calculator free?

Yes, 100% free with no sign-up. It runs entirely in your browser — no account or payment details needed.

What's a good margin on Amazon FBA?

As a general reference, 15-25% or higher is considered a healthy margin. Below 10% your business is very exposed to any surprise costs, and below 5% you're likely losing money once everything is accounted for.

How are Amazon fees calculated?

Amazon mainly charges two fees: the referral fee (a % of your selling price, based on category) and the FBA fulfillment fee (based on product weight and size). This calculator deducts both automatically from the price you enter.

Why do returns matter so much?

When a customer returns a product, it often can't be resold — you lose the product cost plus part of the fees you already paid. That's why this calculator lets you estimate that cost as a % of your sales instead of ignoring it.

What's the difference between margin and ROI?

Margin is your net profit as a % of the selling price. ROI is your net profit as a % of what you actually put out of pocket (cost + freight + other). That's why ROI is usually a higher number than margin.

Is my data saved on a server?

No. All calculations run in your browser, and anything you save in the folders section stays only in that browser (localStorage). Nothing is sent to any external server.
